Rebecca Symes, CPsychol - Throughout my working experience to date I have energetically and successfully sought to develop my range of personal competencies. I am passionate about psychology and motivating and inspiring clients from junior to national level athletes or educational underachievers to senior executives gives me a real sense of fulfillment. I am focused, resourceful and personally very well organised. I always ensure my work is to the highest quality and always take great care over planning and preparation. Equally I pride myself on my ability to be responsive to clients needs at a particular point in time.
With regards to qualifications I have a B.Sc. (hons) in Psychology and an M.Sc. in Sport and Exercise Psychology (Distinction). Additionally I hold a Certificate in Counselling Skills, a Certificate in Personal Coaching and a Diploma in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Furthermore I am a qualified NVQ Assessor, currently assessing the NVQ in Sporting Excellence within Surrey County Cricket Club. Additionally I am a qualified cricket coach (ECB UKCC1).
I am a member of two governing bodies, the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) and the British Psychological Society (BPS) and I take my professional development very seriously. I am constantly striving to further improve my knowledge, keep up to date with current research and meet with other practitioners to share best practice. Additionally I have undertaken personal therapy to ensure I fully understand myself before attempting to understand others.
