Kent Coach & Athlete Development Day 2
Day 2 is almost upon us and will be held once again at Canterbury High School on December 6th 2009 from 10-15.30. For further details please Squad 2 tab. Due to adverse weather conditions it is unlikely that we will be able to use the field during the day. Your event coaches will devise sessions according to the facilities available.
Please note new contact e-mail for the squad. New contact numbers will follow once I have them! This is due to a change in my role which will now incorporate Kent Athletic Network work and work with the AASE Academy for Athletics and additional physiotherapy and biomechanical work. Regards Mark Dayson.

The Kent Athletics Squad has been renamed the Kent Coach & Athlete Development Days. This winters programme will seek to deliver a high quality educational programme to both coaches and athletes with additional opportunities for coaches to expand their knowledge. Please refer to to the Squad 1 tab for more information on the first day at Canterbury on October 25th.
The development days will begin with a focus on strength & conditioning with Dave Rowlands, National Physical Preparation Coach Mentor delivering key sessions to athletes and coaches. This generic overview will be followed up with a more event focused S&C day delivered by Mark Chapman. This day will also see Mark provide an overview to all coaches on sport science and how it can be used to support their coaching.
On the third and fourth days topics to be covered will include injury prevention, nutrition and supplementation and psychology. There will also be opportunites to access biomechanical screening should your coach or the County Squad Coach for your event determine that this would be beneficial to your development.
Lastly, we are in the process of securing some National and Regional level coaches and athletes to attend the developement days to help inspire, develop and enhance the knowledge and skills of our coaches and athletes. These will be confirmed in due course.
A outline programme of the format for each day will be posted along with invites to selected athletes. For the finer detail of each day details will be posted on this website on the corresponding Squad day tab.
